PALOMA TONACO
I'm a lawyer and hold an MBA degree from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. I began my career practicing corporate law, specializing in capital markets with a primary focus on IPOs, debt origination, and M&A deals. After some years, I decided to transition to HR because I believe in its untapped potential to impact both business and people.
Before joining Purpose, I worked in various organizations across the technology and financial industries, holding senior positions in both HR and business. Most recently, I assumed the role of Chief Human Resources Officer, leading the America's division for a global fintech company, following the completion of the Accelerated Executive Program from the Royal Bank of Canada. This career trajectory aligns with my belief that HR must understand and collaborate with the business to achieve success and create a significant impact for both people and the business.
